Live view helps teachers and professors monitor which students have started an exam and which students have handed in or are offline. From here it's possible to monitor the students, unlock the exam for students, upload the offline answer file, download the exam file, print attendance list, print exam and end an exam.
Note! There are two key actions you can make from live view: unlocking exam and downloading offline files. Both can help you if a student experiences a technical difficulty.
Live view
1. Select the Exams tab in the left-hand toolbar and go to your Ongoing exams tab.
Select the Monitor button (figure 1).
Figure 1
From the live view, you can see the names of the students taking the exam, when they started, when their exam data was last received, and when they handed in.
You are also able to view the exam's settings, choose a status for your students (i.e if a student is absent or writing the exam with pen & paper) and download or print the exam and an attendance list (Figure 2).

Unlocking exams
For every active student, there is an unlock action button (the padlock icon). As soon as a student begins taking an exam, the exam is locked in order to prevent cheating. This means if the student tries to end the exam and log back in, they will be blocked. However, there are certain technical issues that might require a teacher or professor to unlock an exam for their student. For example, if a computer freezes or a battery dies unexpectedly, the student will need to have the exam unlocked. In this situation, the following instructions can be used:
1. Select the padlock icon button for a particular student (figure 3).

2. The student re-opens their Digiexam client.
3. The student re-enters the exact same student information/credentials.
4. The student restarts the exam and continues working where they left off.
Offline files
Offline files are used so students can start and hand in exams regardless of whether they have an internet connection. Within live view, you’ll see there are two buttons: “download offline file” and “upload offline answer files.” It is recommended that instructors always download the offline exam file and save it to a USB drive in case a student can’t connect to the internet. For information on how to use offline files, follow our guide Offline exam files.
End Exam
After all students have handed in, the instructor needs to end the exam before they can begin grading. To do that you click the End exam button (figure 5).
Figure 5
After that, your exam will be moved to the Ungraded tab on the Exams page. If the exam's max points are set to 0 points, the exam will be moved to Graded. You can start grading the exam when the exam has ended.
