In this guide we use the term Excel, but other spreadsheet applications such as Google Sheets works as well.
1. Copy from Excel
The Excel spreadsheet must be formatted with the student code in the first column, and the full name of the student in the second column (see figure 1).
Note: students are sorted in the Excel sheet and not in DigiExam. If you usually sort students by last name/surname then you should write the last name/surname first, for example:
Student Code: Name:
st2005 Johansson Johan
st2003 Larsson Lars
st2004 Robinsson Robin
To copy the data, just select the student codes and names, right click and press copy.
2. Paste the students in DigiExam
To paste the students in DigiExam, just right click in the "Paste from Excel" box and press paste (see figure 2).
3. Review and add the students
Check the list to be sure student codes and names look correct, then press "Add Students" to add them to the class (see figure 3).
Creating a course
Now that you've created a class, you'll need to create a course to link the class to. To create a course, click "Create course" in the "Groups" tab that you can find in the menu to the left.
When the course is created you can add one or more of your classes to the course by dragging and dropping the classes into the course. The class will now appear in the list when you start an exam with a group.
