Student login for Chromebook (kiosk app)

The new Digiexam Chromebook app requires students to log in to the kiosk app to be able to take an exam. Students can log in in two ways: either use their email address and a user-specific PIN code OR their Digiexam password.

Each student is assigned a unique PIN code, helping ensure that the correct student is accessing and completing the designated exam.

This article covers:

  1. Finding student PIN codes from the student list
  2. Generating new PIN codes if needed
  3. Available sign-in methods for students using the Digiexam Chromebook app

Finding Student PIN Codes, as a teacher

Step 1: Search for your student

In the left-hand menu, click Students. Search for the student by entering their name or other information, then click the student's name to open their profile.

Step 2: Generate a PIN Code

In the student's profile, scroll down to the Chromebook login section. Click Generate PIN to create a new PIN code for that student. The newly generated PIN can then be shared with the student for secure sign-in. The PIN code is valid for 15 minutes.

Refreshing a PIN Code

The refreshed PIN code is valid for 15 minutes. Students can sign in to the Digiexam Student app using their email address and the generated PIN code.

Methods of Sign-In

SSO Restricted Digiexam Accounts

If your school or organisation restricts students to using only SSO (Single Sign-On) when accessing their Digiexam accounts, students must use the PIN code verification method described in the student article when logging in to the Digiexam Chromebook app.

PIN codes are only used when the school or organisation does not want students to use passwords to access Digiexam.

Digiexam Accounts with Passwords

If your school or organisation allows students to use a set password when logging in to their Digiexam account directly through the Digiexam website, students can choose to use either the password verification method or the PIN code verification method to log in.
