Digiexam provides the ability to use web applications such as a website or a Youtube clip as an external tool. Students can access and use the web link that is allowed in the test, but in a locked environment.
Note that the external tool must be added by an account manager at the school first, before it becomes available for teachers to use in tests and assignments.
Unlike the Add Media function where a web link is linked to a specific question by the teacher, the added web link is then linked to the entire test as an external tool.
Use an external tool for a web page / web link in a test
The function to allow the external tool can be found in the test settings under External tools. (figure 1)
Figure 1
The teacher selects an external tool that can be used in the test by clicking On and can then specify the web link that the students will be able to use. Which is the specific link to that a student should be able to use in the exam. (figure 2)
Below are two examples of external tools created by an account manager at the school, External website and Youtube. (figure 2)
Example: External website
The teacher selects an external tool that can be used in the test by clicking On and can then specify the web link that the students can use by clicking on Edit. (figure 2)

Paste the web link that should be allowed, e.g. https://www.google.com/ Figure 3)

Example: Youtube
The teacher selects an external tool that can be used in the test by clicking On and can then specify the web link that the students can use by clicking on Edit. (Figure 4)

Paste the web link that should be allowed, e.g. https://youtu.be/n4fJylEuIpo

Conduct a test in Digiexam with one or more external tools
Students can start an external tool in the Digiexam client before or after starting the exam. The exam is started as usual and the external tool is then available to use.
Suggest through the following steps:
1. Teacher allows the external tool to be used in an exam.
2. The teacher activates the exam in the usual way, or by clicking on Schedule in the Exam Library to get an examID. A scheduled test gives an examID, but students can not start it until it has started at the scheduled time or the teacher clicks Start exam in the overview view.
3. ExamID can be communicated to the students and the test is sought by the student to start. Note that external tools can be started before the test is started.
The student searches for the test and starts the test in the Digiexam client
4. The test is then performed as usual with the external tool available in the Digiexam client
The student can go to the external tool
The student can use the external tool
Students can switch between the various external tools by clicking on the icons for them and minimize them to return to the test by clicking on the X.
