If any sharing or remote control function is enabled and a connection attempt is made during the test/exam session, a dialog box will appear (Remote session detected) that can only be unlocked by the exam supervisor.
Turn off bluetooth, sidecar, all sharing or remote control
By turning these off on the Mac, the risk of interference will be minimized during the test/exam session.
Start by turning off bluetooth on your device. Having it on and connected to e.g. your mobile phone can cause the message to pop up. If you use Sidecar, that is, sharing your screen on an iPad, you need to disconnect it.
To turn off sharing and remote controls on Mac, do the following:
- Go to the Apple menu in the top left corner, click on System Preferences and click on Sharing (Figure 1)
Figure 1
2. Deselect all checkboxes (Figure 2)
Figure 2
No connections will now be able to access the Mac and the dialog box will not be activated in Digiexam.
External screen
When having an external display the mirroring option must be unchecked, otherwise it will be detected as a remote session.
- Click on the Apple
- Open System preferences
- Open Displays > Arrangement
- Uncheck Mirror Displays.
