The new lockdown application
This new student application will replace the existing one during the summer and require a separate installation. To help roll out the new application, both versions (current and new) of the lockdown app will be supported for a short time.
Our web page has orphaned download links for the new application, meaning that students won't be able to find them publicly yet unless they have the download link below.

Information for Exam Administrators and Teachers:
Replacing the apps doesn't affect anything on your end, only the app students use to take an exam is different. All existing exams can be used as you normally would.

Support for the old/current lockdown application will be removed continuously during summer on the different platforms according to the schedule below. Two weeks in advance, a message will appear to students using the old/current app.
OS-specific information and release dates
- Windows: Support for both user-wide and machine-wide MSI installation. Support for Windows ARM
- MacOS: Use of assessment mode. An update to Monterey 12.0 or later is required
- iOS: no major changes
- Chromebook: a new Android kiosk application that will later be replaced by a new application that won't need kiosk mode for device lockdown.

*This app will replace the current Chromebook application as Google continues to deprecate its support for all ChromeOS applications. The Android student application allows students to use the new features in a lockdown environment while in kiosk mode. The end goal is to transition to a full Android student application that can be installed on individual user profiles.
